Raoul Wallenberg was born on August 4, 1912 in Walpole, Lidingö, Sweden. He was born into a well-known baking family. When Raoul was young his father passed away and his mother remarried. His grandfather then took over his education. Wallenberg traveled all over the world to get the best education possible.

Berit Wallenberg (1902-1995) var dotter till Oscar Wallenberg (1872-1939) och Beatrice Keiller (1877-1962). Hennes yngre bror var Carol Wallenberg (1904-1985), och hon var kusin till Raoul Wallenbergs far Raoul Oscar Wallenberg. Tillsammans med Raoul Wallenbergs halvsyster Nina Lagergren arbetade han för att få regeringen att få klarhet om Wallenbergs öde.
